The Neighbourhood's album art

I Love You is the début album by the American indie rock band The Neighbourhood. The front cover features a grey background of smoke, an upside down triangle with an eye inside, a heart and an upside down house.
The Neighbourhood are known for a black and white or grey scale image. All of their album covers, music videos, any photos of the band and their website feature very little, if any, colour. The three symbols on the front also link to their image and are now known as the band’s ‘logos’ or ‘symbols’. The triangle symbol links to the illuminati tattoo that the lead singer has on his neck, the heart links to the album title and the upside down house links to the band’s name. The smoke also links to the band’s image as the lead singer is often photographed smoking. The fact that there is no album title or band name on the front cover gives off a sense of mystery.
The back of the cover also features the smoke background along with the grey scale theme. The back also doesn't say the band’s name however; it does tell you the title of the album in bold capitals on the bottom third of the cover. It also tells you the track listing on the bottom third of the cover, all in capitals.

Overall, I think that this album art successfully reflects the band’s image and music. I feel like it links well with the indie genre and I like how the album tracks link to the monotone theme of the band.

Since I Love You, The Neighbourhood have released a mixtape (titled #000000 & #FFFFFF) and their second album (titled Wiped Out!). Both of these follow the black and white theme, with #000000 & #FFFFFF being the hex codes for black and white.
#000000 & #FFFFFF's album art consists of half of the cover being white and the other half being black. Therefore, they are also still following the fairly simplistic theme of their art. Wiped Out! features a desert island scene, the band's name and the album title. There is also the bands logo featured on the bottom middle.
All of their albums don't include any photography and are all graphic based.
